Prière à Saint-Christophe pour les conducteurs

Accorde-moi, Seigneur, une main ferme et un regard vigilant ; que personne ne soit blessé quand je passe. Tu as donné la vie, je prie pour qu'aucun de mes actes ne puisse enlever ou endommager ce Don de Toi. Abrite, Ô Seigneur, ceux qui m'accompagnent, des maux du feu et de toutes les calamités. Enseigne-moi à utiliser ma voiture pour le besoin des autres, et à ne pas manquer, par amour de la vitesse excessive, la beauté du monde ; et qu'ainsi, je puisse continuer ma route avec joie et courtoisie. Saint-Christophe, Saint patron des voyageurs, protège-moi et conduis-moi en toute sécurité vers ma destination.

Cher Saint-Christophe, tu as hérité d'un beau nom : « le Porteur du Christ », conséquence d'une légende merveilleuse qui raconte que, tout en portant les gens à travers un ruisseau déchaîné, tu as aussi porté l'Enfant-Jésus. Apprends-nous à être de vrais porteurs du Christ pour ceux qui ne Le connaissent pas. Protège tous les conducteurs qui transportent souvent ceux qui portent le Christ en eux. Amen.

Dieu Éternel et Tout-Puissant, daigne répandre Ton Esprit sur nous. Que nos cœurs soient remplis de cet amour vrai qui a permis à Ton Saint martyr Saint-Christophe de surmonter tous les tourments du corps. Amen.

Neuvaine à Saint-Christophe

Dieu Éternel et Tout-Puissant, avec une Foi vive et en adorant respectueusement Ta Divine Majesté, je me prosterne devant Toi et j’invoque avec une confiance filiale Ta magnanimité et Ta Miséricorde suprêmes. Illumine les ténèbres de mon intelligence d’un rayon de Ta Lumière Céleste et embrase mon cœur du Feu de Ton Divin Amour, afin que je puisse contempler les grandes vertus et les mérites du Saint en l'honneur duquel je fais cette neuvaine et, en suivant son exemple, imiter, comme lui, la vie de ton Divin Fils.

De plus, je Te prie de m’accorder gracieusement, par les mérites et l'intercession de ce puissant Auxiliaire, la prière que je dépose humblement devant Toi, à travers lui, en disant avec dévotion : « Que Ta Volonté soit faite sur la terre comme au Ciel ! » Daigne l’exaucer dans Ta Grâce, si elle contribue à Ta plus grande Gloire et au salut de mon âme.

Ô Dieu, qui as fait de Saint-Christophe un vrai porteur du Christ, qui a converti des multitudes à la Foi chrétienne ; et qui lui as donné la Grâce de souffrir pour Toi les plus cruels tourments ; par l’intercession de ce Saint, nous T’implorons de nous protéger du péché, le seul véritable mal. Préserve-nous aussi contre les forces néfastes des éléments comme les tremblements de terre, la foudre, le feu et les inondations. Amen.

Ô grand Saint-Christophe, en cherchant le maître le plus fort et le plus puissant, tu l'as trouvé en Jésus-Christ, le Dieu Tout-Puissant du Ciel et de la terre, et tu L’as fidèlement servi de tout ton pouvoir jusqu’à la fin de ta vie, en gagnant pour Lui d'innombrables âmes, et finalement, en versant ton sang pour Lui. Obtiens-moi la Grâce de toujours porter le Christ dans mon coeur, comme tu L’as porté un jour sur ton épaule, afin que je puisse ainsi être renforcé pour surmonter victorieusement toutes les tentations et résister à toutes les séductions du monde, le diable et la chair, et que les puissances des ténèbres ne puissent pas prévaloir contre moi. Amen.

Mon Seigneur et mon Dieu, je T’offre ma prière en union avec l’amère passion et la mort de Jésus-Christ, Ton Fils, ainsi qu’avec les mérites de Sa Mère Sainte et Immaculée, Marie toujours vierge, et ceux de tous les Saints, en particulier ceux du Saint Auxiliaire en l'honneur duquel je fais cette neuvaine.

Tourne Ton regard vers moi, Ô Seigneur Miséricordieux ! Accorde-moi Ta Grâce et Ton Amour, et daigne, dans Ta Grâce, exaucer ma prière. Amen.

Prayer to St. Christopher for Motorists

Grant me O Lord a steady hand and watchful eye. That no one shall be hurt as I pass by. Thou gavest life, I pray no act of mine may take away or mar that gift of Thine. Shelter those, dear Lord, who bear me company, from the evils of fire and all calamity. Teach me to use my car for others' need; nor miss through love of undue speed the beauty of the world; that thus I may with joy and courtesy go on my way. St. Christopher, holy patron of travellers, protect me and lead me safely to my destiny. Dear St. Christopher, you have inherited a beautiful name: "Christbearer", as a result of a wonderful legend that while carrying people across a raging stream you also carried the Child Jesus. Teach us to be true Christbearers to those who do not know Him. Protect all drivers who often transport those who bear Christ within them. Amen. Almighty and ever-living God, graciously pour out Your Spirit upon us. Let our hearts be filled with that true love which enabled Your holy martyr St. Christopher to overcome all bodily torments. Almighty and eternal God! With lively faith and reverently worshiping Thy divine Majesty, I prostrate myself before Thee and invoke with filial trust Thy supreme bounty and mercy. Illumine the darkness of my intellect with a ray of Thy heavenly light and inflame my heart with the fire of Thy divine love, that I may contemplate the great virtues and merits of the saint in whose honor I make this novena, and following his example imitate, like him, the life of Thy divine Son.

Moreover, I beseech Thee to grant graciously, through the merits and intercession of this powerful Helper, the petition which through him I humbly place before Thee, devoutly saying, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Vouchsafe graciously to hear it, if it redounds to Thy greater glory and to the salvation of my soul.

Great St. Christophorus, seeking the strongest and mightiest master thou didst find him in Jesus Christ, the almighty God of heaven and earth, and didst faithfully serve Him with all thy power to the end of thy life, gaining for Him countless souls and finally shedding thy blood for Him; obtain for me the grace to bear Christ always in my heart, as thou didst once bear Him on thy shoulder, so that I thereby may be strengthened to overcome victoriously all temptations and resist all enticements of the world, the devil, and the flesh, and that the powers of darkness may not prevail against me. Amen.

Concluding Prayer

My Lord and my God! I offer up to Thee my petition in union with the bitter passion and death of Jesus Christ, Thy Son, together with the merits of His immaculate and blessed Mother, Mary ever virgin, and of all the saints, particularly with those of the holy Helper in whose honor I make this novena.

Look down upon me, merciful Lord! Grant me Thy grace and Thy love, and graciously hear my prayer. Amen.
